AP Exams: Language (5), Environmental Science (5), Precalculus (5), U.S. History (4), European History (4) (I also took Literature, U.S. Government, Comparative Government, Physics 1, and Statistics, but during my senior year, so I didn't take the exams, as Williams doesn't give AP credit.)
My name is Noah (He/Him), and I'm a first-year student (Class of 2029) at Williams College. I am planning to major in Political Science. I took 11 AP classes in high school, in a variety of fields, so I'm happy to teach many different subjects like history, science, math, and English. I'm also happy to help students prepare for AP/SAT/ACT/PSAT tests. I have experience working with all different age groups, and I love to help others understand difficult or complex problems. I have worked as an elementary summer camp instructor and have coached middle and high school debaters. I was also involved in debate all throughout high school, and am currently in Mock Trial at Williams. I also play the trumpet and am involved in the Williams Brass and Jazz Ensembles, and I would be happy to tutor trumpet.

Daniel
Williams College, Class of 2027, majoring in Computer Science and Music
Tutoring subjects:
Math, Computer Science, Spanish, Piano (classical & jazz), Music Theory
Hi! I’m Daniel, a junior at Williams College double-majoring in Computer Science and Music. I love exploring how logic and creativity intersect—whether that’s in a coding project, a piece of music, or a tutoring session. Over the past few years, I’ve worked with students of all ages in both academic and artistic settings. I’ve tutored elementary students in Williamstown, taught web design (HTML and CSS) at the Milne Public Library, and led music theory lessons and directed youth theater productions of The Lion King Jr. and Alice in Wonderland Jr. through the Youth Development Organization in Lawrence, Massachusetts. I also have experience supporting early learners at the Williams College Children’s Center, helping students develop confidence and curiosity in the classroom. Academically, I love helping students with math, computer science, and Spanish, building strong foundations in elementary school in fun and engaging ways and progressing to more advanced subjects like Spanish grammar and coding in Python later on. In music, I teach classical and jazz piano, along with music theory with the goal of making students better composers, interpreters, and performers of music, to teach them why music is the way it is and how to make music themselves. I can tutor 1 student or small groups of 2 or 3 students, which is a great, fun way for a group of friends or siblings to learn together, and my coding and Spanish tutoring for example are great for kids as young as elementary school--we start with intuitive lessons designed for that age. As a tutor, my goal is to make learning engaging and approachable—building understanding step by step and celebrating every “aha” moment along the way.

Raquel
Boston University, Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching with an emphasis on Early Elementary Education
Tutoring subjects:
Elementary school reading and writing, English as a second language, Spanish, child psychology, ukelele, choir, drawing, and painting
Hi. My name is Raquel, and I'm an artist and educator originally from Managua, Nicaragua. My background allows me to help young learners excel in Spanish and English as a second language (ESL). I design lessons that build real fluency through developmentally appropriate strategies. My native Spanish, combined with my training in child psychology and elementary education, enables me to teach languages in ways that are intuitive, enjoyable, and effective. I hold a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University, with a concentration in Early Elementary Education, and a B.A. in Psychology from Keiser University’s Latin American Campus. At Williams College, I am Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement for Affinity Programs, supporting and sustaining communities forged as students on campus. I have been teaching for eleven years. Early in my career, I taught English as a Second Language at a school for the deaf and later worked one-on-one with deaf young adults as a literacy and sign-language tutor. I have studied Nicaraguan Sign Language since 2011. This language developed spontaneously among deaf children in Nicaragua in the late twentieth century and has unique grammar, vocabulary, and structure. Its emergence is well known in linguistics because it offered rare insight into how human languages form. This work strengthened my understanding of how languages build grammar and vocabulary and has made me especially effective at helping children develop strong foundations in Spanish and English. I am also an artist and musician. I have sung in choirs for more than twenty years, direct children’s choirs, play ukulele, and teach drawing and painting in several mediums. When appropriate, I incorporate music and art to make Spanish or ESL lessons engaging, memorable, and fun. Everyone learns differently, and one-on-one tutoring is a wonderful way for students to receive specialized attention so they can really thrive. I'm looking forward to meeting you and working together to apply my skills and experience to make school fun while also determining learning tools that can be applied for years to come.
