Hello! My name is Michelle, and I’m an undergraduate student at Brown University majoring in Computer Science and Economics, graduating in 2028. I’m excited to help students learn, build confidence, and discover a passion for learning. Throughout high school and college, I’ve taken classes in different areas like calculus, chemistry, physics, computer science, economics, government, and English. I’ve grown to appreciate how different subjects connect, and I hope to help students develop that same appreciation. I also coached swimming for two summers, where I worked closely with students of different ages and abilities. Being in that environment taught me a lot about working with others, communicating clearly, and supporting people as they work toward their own goals. I enjoyed getting to know swimmers over time and being someone they could rely on for guidance and encouragement. I’m excited to tutor and build connections with students while helping them feel confident and engaged in their studies. I care about creating a supportive, comfortable environment where questions are welcome and learning feels manageable. I’m really looking forward to working with students and helping make their learning process a fun and fulfilling experience.

I am an undergraduate at Brown University (Class of 2026) studying Applied Mathematics–Economics and Computer Science. Teaching has been a constant throughline in my academic and creative life, and I enjoy helping others build confidence and mastery across disciplines. I have played violin for over 15 years, performing works such as the Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, and Paganini concertos, appearing at Carnegie Hall, serving as concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, and serving as a member of the Brown University Orchestra. Through years of performing and teaching, I have learned how patience, listening, and encouragement help students grow both technically and personally. In mathematics and statistics, I was double accelerated in high school and took college level courses at Georgia Tech, later earning a top 9% placement in an international team-based mathematical modeling competition. At Brown, I serve as a teaching assistant for linear algebra, intermediate microeconomics, and macroeconomics, and I am part of a small group of Math Teaching Fellows who study how students learn and how to make challenging material clearer and more engaging. Working with hundreds of students each semester has taught me how to adjust to different learning styles and support students through both uncertainty and progress. Outside the classroom, I am also a nationally recognized visual artist (Scholastics Award Gold Medalist) with 17 years of experience, the former Class and Student Council President of my high school, and a Peer Career Advisor at Brown. I also studied Latin with perfect scores on the NLE, NLVE, and NCEE and conducted research at Emory University and the CDC during high school, experiences that shaped my belief that there is beauty and meaning across all disciplines and that every student deserves to feel curious and capable. When I teach, I combine careful attention to detail with curiosity and creative problem solving so students feel supported while building independence. My goal is for every student to feel understood, capable, and proud of their growth as they develop skills that stay with them long after a lesson ends.

Hi! I’m an undergraduate student at Brown University, double concentrating in Neuroscience and Economics, with a strong academic background across math, science, and the humanities. I’ve worked with students of varying ages and skill levels, and I enjoy helping them gain confidence and clarity in subjects that may initially feel overwhelming. I have several years of tutoring experience, including working at Mathnasium, where I supported students across grade levels by strengthening foundational math skills, improving problem-solving strategies, and building effective study habits through individualized instruction. At Brown, I’ve also served as a teaching assistant in the Biology Department, leading review sessions and working one-on-one with students to explain complex concepts in a clear, approachable way. My interest in tutoring comes from seeing how the right guidance can completely change a student’s relationship with learning. I focus on breaking down material into intuitive steps, adapting explanations to each student’s learning style, and keeping sessions structured, encouraging, and engaging. My goal is not only to help students improve grades and test scores, but also to build lasting confidence, independence, and strong academic habits that carry forward well beyond our sessions.

Hi! My name is Abby, and I'm a first-year student at Brown University, where I'm concentrating in International & Public Affairs. I've been interested in tutoring and helping other students since middle school, where I started out by tutoring writing to younger grades. In terms of academics, I intentionally pursued a diverse course load in high school, excelling in honors and AP classes from Chemistry to Spanish to World History, as well as the SAT. I deeply value intersectionality in education and studying; I love helping students become more well-rounded by tutoring them in subjects they struggle with, while also helping them dive deeply into subjects they are already passionate about. I strongly believe in the power of one-on-one and small-group connection to help students find new value, joy, and success in their academic careers, just as some excellent teachers throughout my education helped me to find the same. In high school, I continued this passion by coaching volleyball both for the team at my former middle school and for individual students through private lessons, all the while playing as a 4-year varsity volleyball player. I also played 4 years of club volleyball and earned a place as an all-state athlete. Through sharing my volleyball experience and learning with younger students, I've developed a deeper passion and understanding for the sport, and love working with young athletes on everything from individual skills to game knowledge to how to be an effective team member and leader. I look forward to establishing deep and lasting connections with students through tutoring them in the diverse subjects and athletics I've studied, giving them a stable routine of help that can enable them to reach new levels of success and happiness as students, athletes, and people.
