Hello! My name is Chloe, and I am a sophomore at Emory University. I am majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Environmental Science while pursuing the pre-med track. I am currently located at Emory’s Oxford campus, but I will be matriculating to the Atlanta campus starting fall 2026, and I am available to commute both ways. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a CTE completion in Biomedical Engineering and a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and Italian from Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, New Jersey. I am the captain of Emory Oxford’s Varsity Women’s tennis team, and a NJCAA 2025 singles national champion and All-American. In my final years of high school, I was a peer essay tutor, where I helped other students refine their work for Honors and AP English classes. Additionally, I have been a private and group tennis coach for the past five years. I have worked with kids ages 4-14, as well as taught beginner and intermediate adults. It has been an honor to bring my athletes to the next level in their sport while watching them grow up. Besides athletics, I have a passion for all things science, and I hope to become a radiologist in the future. My background in learning and working with students in various disciplines has given me a truly unique perspective on the educational experience. I know what it is like to be on either side of a tutoring session. I truly have a passion for learning, and it is my goal that every student of mine excels. I look forward to working with you and your child!

Hello! My name is Hannah, and I am currently a sophomore at Emory University studying Biology with a minor in Architectural Studies on the Pre-Dental track. I am located on Emory’s Atlanta Campus, so it is very convenient for me to meet students for tutoring on campus. I graduated from Wardlaw+Hartridge in 2024, where I was inducted into the Cum Laude Society and the Spanish Honors Society and earned the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. My academic interests center around chemistry, biology, math, statistics, and psychology. I enjoy helping students build both confidence and a strong understanding of these subjects. I began tutoring in high school, working primarily with middle school students in Pre-Algebra and Algebra. Through this experience, I helped students strengthen their problem-solving and study skills while learning how to explain concepts in a way that feels approachable and clear. I focus on creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems by breaking down challenging material step-by-step. Outside of academics, I play for Emory Women’s Club Volleyball, where I lead practices with the goal of improving individuals' skills, building connections between teammates, and increasing mental strength in the sport. I also enjoy making art and have taken classes in painting and drawing for many years, which has encouraged me to explore new creative mediums and approaches. As I’ve become more involved in the Atlanta community, I volunteer with the Single Parent’s Alliance as a Book Buddy, where I work with elementary school students to build their literacy and confidence in reading. In my free time, I enjoy baking, crafting, and exploring new food spots around Atlanta! As a tutor, my goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop independence and study habits that will support their long-term academic success.

Hello! My name is Giana, and I am a sophomore at Emory University double-majoring in Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and English. I am currently located on Emory’s Oxford campus, but will be matriculating over to Emory’s Atlanta campus starting August 2026 (it is no problem for me to commute to Atlanta for tutoring). I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Morris County School of Technology’s Performing Arts Academy for the Dance Arts in 2024, where I was inducted into multiple academic honor societies, including National Honor Society, and earned the AP Scholar Award with Distinction. In addition to my academic background, I’ve spent most of my life as a competitive figure skater and worked as a figure skating coach for five years. Coaching students ranging from young beginners to adult skaters strengthened my ability to communicate efficiently, adapt quickly to different learning styles, and break down complex techniques into digestible steps to build confidence in my students. These skills translate directly into my academic instruction style: structured, patient, and results-oriented. I began tutoring in high school, where I discovered my passion for academia while serving as an English and Biology I tutor and later as a math tutor through Math Honor Society after completing AP Calculus BC. At Emory, I have continued to pursue teaching opportunities. I have worked as a laboratory teaching assistant for Biology I students and currently work as a supplemental instructor for Biology II, where I lead weekly review sessions, create study guides, and help students master the concepts of a historically challenging course in a collaborative learning environment.

Hello! My name is Salma, and I am a sophomore at Emory University, majoring in Applied Mathematics, and pursuing a dual degree with Georgia Tech in Industrial and Systems Engineering. I am currently located at Emory’s Atlanta Campus, and will be matriculating at Georgia Tech in the fall of 2027. In 2024, I graduated Valedictorian from North Star Academy Washington Park High School in Newark, NJ. Throughout high school, I tutored geometry and algebra and, as a senior, regularly peer-reviewed English essays and research papers to help classmates strengthen their writing and analytical skills. Through Emory Reads, I had the opportunity to tutor small groups of children ranging from 1st to 4th grade in reading, writing, and math during my freshman year of college. This past summer, I worked as a STEM educator at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ, where I planned and facilitated hands-on learning activities in aeronautics, robotics, coding, chemistry, and more. Over the course of ten weeks, I led groups of up to 20 students, designing interactive experiments and challenges that allowed students to build, test, and explore concepts themselves, making science exciting and tangible. Outside of work, I have found a passion in volunteering with ACEing Autism, a nonprofit that holds weekly tennis clinics for low-income autistic youth. I have grown to love the game of tennis and my passion for working with kids has only increased. This experience has taught me the value of communication, patience, consistency, and positive encouragement. I apply this same approach to tutoring by understanding students on a personal level and recognizing that every learner processes information differently. I prioritize creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence at their own pace.

I graduated from Freedom High School in Orlando, Florida in 2025, where I received school awards in Math, Science, and Macroeconomics. I am also a QuestBridge Scholar. I have always enjoyed both learning and teaching. During my senior year of high school, I worked as a tutor for K–12 students. Through that experience, I developed a range of tutoring strategies so I could adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning needs. I also volunteered as an SAT Math tutor with an organization that connected me with students across the United States. These experiences helped me learn how to explain complex ideas in clear, accessible ways while still preserving the depth of the material. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students solve problems, but also to build their confidence and understanding. I look forward to working with you!

Hi! My name is Anna, and I’m an undergraduate student at Emory University pursuing a double major in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and Chemistry. My love for quick problem-solving and strength in self-direction have led me to pursue the pre-anesthesiology assistant pathway as a pre-health student. Since high school, I have worked as a private tutor for a wide range of subjects, from English as a Second Language to AP coursework. With my experience, I’ve learned to be adaptable and understand my tutee’s learning styles to curate specific lesson plans that work for them. Additionally, I do my best to establish a solid foundation in the subject and progressively expand their knowledge for the best results. Outside of tutoring, service is a central part of my life. I volunteer at the Winship Cancer Institute and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where I often talk to patients and their families. At Emory, I am also involved in clinical neuroscience research studying Alzheimer's. My experiences as a student strongly shape how I approach teaching. Although chemistry used to be the hardest subject for me, an older student reframed it as a discipline rich in creativity and exploration. This led me to take AP Chemistry and inspired my double major! I even went on to join a data research project for determining the efficacy of the new Chem Unbound program at Emory. Overall, as someone who greatly benefited from mentorship, I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and discovering the excitement of learning.
