Test results:

ACT: 34 Composite (Math 31, Science 32, English 36, Reading 36)

AP Exams: Calculus AB (4), Chemistry (4), English Language (4)

Hi! My name is Paige, and I’m a first-year student at Middlebury College majoring in Biology. I enjoy helping students build confidence and succeed in biology, chemistry, and math. I work with students of different ages and learning styles and strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. I serve as a teaching assistant for an introductory biology course at Middlebury College focused on Ecology and Evolution. In this role, I help students understand foundational concepts, assist with data collection and analysis, and guide students through writing lab reports. In my tutoring, I focus on developing true conceptual understanding rather than memorization, meeting students where they are, and helping them gain confidence in their abilities. In addition to academics, I have extensive experience working with younger students through athletics. This summer, I taught sports to elementary and middle school students at Camp Kiniya, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence. In high school, I served as co-captain of the varsity basketball team, mentoring younger players and fostering a positive team culture. I continue my love for athletics at Middlebury through club rugby, club running, and intramural basketball. Across both academics and athletics, I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine investment in my students’ growth. My goal is to help students not only improve their skills but also build confidence in their ability to learn, problem-solve, and succeed.

Diptanshu

Middlebury College, Class of 2028, majoring in Economics with a minor in Mathematics

Tutoring subjects:

Math, English, Spanish, Basketball, Soccer, Reading, History

Test results:

ACT: 32 Composite (Math 30, English 35, Reading 35, Science 26

AP Exams: Calculus AB (2), English Language (3), English Literature (5), Government (4), US History (3), World History (4)

Hello! My name is Diptanshu, and I’m a sophomore at Middlebury College, where I’m majoring in Economics and pursuing a minor in Mathematics. I am a Winona, MN native, and I started tutoring through my high school’s National Honor Society. I have experience working with middle school and high school students taking courses in high school Mathematics, History, Spanish, and English. I was also a member of our school’s Spanish Honors Society and took Spanish classes all four years of high school. During my senior year, I was awarded the Minnesota Seal of Biliteracy, and I would love to help anyone interested in learning Spanish! At Middlebury, I have completed math coursework up to multivariable calculus and completed economics coursework up to economic statistics (econometrics). I have also taken courses in American History, Chinese History, and even Indian Cinema. Outside of the classroom, I am on the board of our South Asian Student Association and a participant in intramural basketball and soccer. I played varsity soccer all four years of high school, and played basketball from fourth grade to 10th grade. I’m a big believer in collaboration, and almost everything I do involves my favorite activity: being a teammate. Along with tutoring students, I’ve also experienced being tutored. During my freshman and sophomore years of high school, I struggled with math courses in geometry and algebra, and even worse, I struggled with asking for help. It was only after I was paired with an upperclassman tutor through the National Honor Society that my grades and understanding of the subject began to improve. During my Junior and Senior years of high school, I used my experience being tutored to help younger students and foster a collaborative environment focused on developing comprehensive and technical ability. As a tutor, I’m excited to work alongside students and help them achieve their academic goals. Outside of academics, I am open to assisting students in developing their technical ability in basketball and soccer as well.

Angee

Middlebury College, Class of 2026, majoring in English with minors in Jewish Studies and Psychology

Tutoring subjects:

English, Creative Writing, College Essays

Hi! My name is Angee (she/her), and I’m a senior at Middlebury College majoring in English, with minors in Jewish Studies and Psychology. I’m originally from Blain, Pennsylvania, where my rural background first sparked my love of writing and storytelling. I began tutoring in high school as a writing tutor and ELA classroom assistant, supporting middle school students with reading comprehension, essay writing, and confidence-building. My work since then has focused on student support and educational access. As an Advising Fellow with Matriculate, I mentored first-generation and low-income students through the college application and financial aid process, helping them develop personal statements and academic essays. Students I advised earned full-tuition scholarships and admissions to highly selective institutions, including Princeton, UChicago, and Skidmore. At Middlebury, I’ve completed extensive writing coursework ranging from Shakespeare to modern poetry and have written three chapbooks. I am currently completing a full-length poetry collection in lieu of a senior thesis. Alongside my academic work, I’ve held multiple student-facing roles, including serving as a Peer Career Advisor, where I guide students through résumé writing, cover letters, interview preparation, and professional storytelling. Outside the classroom, I’ve also served as a Safety Parent and President of The Mill, Middlebury’s music social house, supporting student well-being, conflict resolution, and community care while organizing over 200 events. Across tutoring, advising, and leadership, I’ve learned that effective learning comes from patience, persistence, and meeting students where they are. As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive, encouraging space where students can build confidence in their writing and develop skills they can carry forward.

Ben

Middlebury College, Class of 2027, majoring in Physics with a minor in Mathematics

Tutoring subjects:

Calculus, algebra, linear algebra, classical mechanics (kinematics, projectile motion, dynamics, etc.), electromagnetism, general chemistry, swimming

Test results:

ACT: 35 Composite

AP Exams: Calculus AB (5), Environmental Science (4), Macroeconomics (3), Physics 1 (4), U.S. History (5)

I am a third-year physics major and math minor at Middlebury College and expect to graduate in spring 2027. I have extensive experience in calculus as well as physics, having most recently taken differential equations and special relativity/electromagnetism. I was an astrophysics research assistant last summer at Middlebury College and was a teaching assistant for a lab section of an astronomy course last fall at Middlebury, where I had a valuable experience instructing my peers and helping them with lab work. I also have coached two years of summer league swimming at the Apawamis Golf Club in Rye, NY. These past experiences have given me the necessary skillset to be an effective tutor, and to help my students excel in the subjects they are taking. My experience coaching swimming as well as teaching/studying physics has given me a unique outlook on teaching and coaching, since it has taught me that every person sees a subject from a unique perspective, and the most effective way to teach someone is to try and understand their unique perspective before anything else.

Dylan

Tutoring subjects:

English, ESL, French, AP US and European History, AP Government, SAT, college admissions, math up to pre-calculus

Test results:

SAT: 1510 (780 Reading, 730 Math)

AP Exams: Gov (5), US History (5), European History (4)

Hi! My name is Dylan, and I’m a first-year student at Middlebury College majoring in Economics with a minor in Chinese. I’m originally from New York City and have several years of tutoring experience from both Regis High School where I graduated in 2025 as well as teaching ESL via Zoom at a UNHCR-funded school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am passionate about learning languages and plan to study abroad in my junior year at Middlebury. During high school, I took four years of French which allowed me to participate in an exchange program in Paris and become proficient. I have previously tutored French and am happy to continue tutoring students enrolled in French as well as encourage holistic language learning. During my first semester at Middlebury, I studied macroeconomics, English literature, film, and Chinese. Outside of the classroom, I serve as the student senator for the Class of 2029, representing the student voice to the college administration and organizing events on campus. I also volunteer at the Charter House food kitchen and write for the Middlebury Campus, the college newspaper. After many years of practice, writing has become my main academic strength. In high school, I often struggled with writers’ block and would procrastinate, frantically searching for ideas. The peer tutoring that my high school organized helped me learn how to structure my writing process and succeed in crafting strong, articulate essays, eventually joining the peer tutoring team myself. As high school students approach college admissions, I am more than willing to edit their supplemental essays and advise them on their ideas. When tutoring, I believe building strong relationships with your tutees is the key to success. In high school, I invested time and energy into ensuring that underclassmen received the same quality of help that I benefited from in my early years. I look forward to carrying that energy into my tutoring with The Shires Tutoring Company.
